Notice of Hydrant Flushing

Hydrant and Distribution System Flushing

Please be advised that hydrant and water distribution system flushing within the communities of Red Lake, Balmertown, Cochenour, McKenzie Island and Madsen will begin on September 5, 2023 for approximately 8 weeks. During the flushing process, there should be no interruptions to water service. Common and temporary effects of the flushing process include a slight drop in water pressure and/or cloudy/discoloured water.

There are no health risks with using the water. However, household cleaning, laundry and food preparation should be postponed while local flushing is being completed.  Upon completion, consumers should open a cold water tap for a few minutes until the water appears clear.
